Walgreens has a deal going on this week where when you buy $20 worth of Pepsi products you receive a $10 Register Reward. There are many combos and coupons available to make this deal even sweeter. Check out some of them here. Since we where in need of soda as our stockpile had been depleted, I figured this was a great time to stock up! Here's what I've ended up with thus far (the kids wanted to be soda models!):

You've probably heard about the 50% off all clearance prices @ Old Navy this week. I found one better- we have a store closing near us, so we dropped by to see what they had on Sunday. All of their clearance merchandise (most of the store) was 75% off the orange tags! I found t-shirts and things for the kids for .34 & .62 each! Here is what we scored:

Do you remember when this was on the radio? I do....and I was reminded of it today! I think it's awesome words of advice should be taken to heart, so I'm sharing it with you today!

Ladies and gentlemen of the class of '97:

Wear sunscreen.

If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it. The long-term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists, whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience. I will dispense this advice now.

Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth. Oh, never mind. You will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until they've faded. But trust me, in 20 years, you'll look back at photos of yourself and recall in a way you can't grasp now how much possibility lay before you and how fabulous you really looked. You are not as fat as you imagine.

Don't worry about the future. Or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubble gum. The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind, the kind that blindside you at 4 pm on some idle Tuesday.

First of all, let me say I wholeheartedly apologize for being MIA the past week or so. It's been so busy around here! How did you make out on Black Friday? Were you able to cross a few more gifts off your list? I enjoyed shopping yesterday, and if it weren't for the fiasco my husband witnessed outside the Toys R Us store he was at it would have been excellent!

We started Black Friday early this year by having my husband stand outside TRU starting at 7pm Thanksgiving evening in preparation of their midnight opening. We really wanted to get our kids the Zhu Zhu pets that are so widely sought after, but very hard to find. We met that goal by a third as they limited each family to only one Zhu Zhu hamster. I'm still short 2, but I hope that I am able to find them again before Christmas. If anyone finds any extra, could you let me know?

After Russ came home from TRU and the chaos that ensued, I got ready to head out. I went to Old Navy at 3am, then onto Walmart, Gordman's, Hallmark, Bath and Body Works, Walgreens and finally Lowe's. After all that, we decorated outside for the kids and called it a night. I was in bed by 8pm last night. Whew!

I ran across some really CUTE costumes at Old Navy.com back several weeks ago, and have since been coveting the "monkey" costume for Jack for this year. Of course it was still full price back then, so I decided to wait it out. I checked this morning and behold, my beloved costume was on sale for $10! Score!

Now, after I feverishly checked out so that I made sure to get Jack's costume in the correct size before anyone could snatch it from my virtual cart; I did some looking around. They have several more VERY cute costumes on sale as well! These are the well made plush variety. None of the plastic, rip- the- first- time -you- wear- it things here. All of them are on sale for $10, $15 or $20. Even with the $7 flat rate shipping, it's far cheaper than the store that STILL has them for FULL PRICE! Not to mention, these make for excellent eBay items next year and believe it or not, fetch an almost identical price to what you are paying today! I highly recommend checking it out if you have little ones still needing a costume!

There were a couple of deals worth meantioning at Target this week. They only have ONE gift card deal available this week! Is it just me, or are these deals becoming less and less frequent?

Anyway, the one gift card deal is at least a decent one, even without coupons. The deal states you get a $5 Target gift card when you buy (5) Mott's 64 oz. apple juices or 6 pack applesauces for $1.75 each. So, that's $8.75- the $5.00 gift card= $3.75 or .75 each for the juice or applesauce. You can't beat that! There were some IP coupons out here a while back, so if you still had some of those it would make this deal a moneymaker!

The next deal available this week is on the Quaker Chewy Granola Bars. They are on sale for $2 per box this week. There is currently a $1/2 coupon here. There is also a .50/1 Target printable coupon here. That makes these $1 per box!

I am very sorry for the lack of posting over the last week. However, I have a good excuse. I've gone back to work! Yep, you heard me right, I decided it was time to get back out in the "world" and communicate with "big" people who don't drool and eat crackers all day. :) It was never the plan for me to stay home long term. Only long enough to get Seth stable on his medication and allow me to be home with Jack his first year. Now that Jack is 16 months, that time has come. I've enjoyed my time at home, but I also enjoy being productive outside of the home. I am only working part time for now, 3 or 4 days per week and I leave work in time to pick the bigger boys up from school. We were afraid that childcare for Seth would be more than he could handle, so we have circumvented that problem for now. However, I may be looking at full time hours in the future, but we'll address those things as we come to them.

I will still do my best to post some deals here for my loyal readers. They may not be in as timely of a fashion as other blogs simply because I'm not going to be available. I will probably begin to post more family information and events here as well. Thanks so much for the ones that stick with me!
